Bob and Jean Kimmel are honoring their son Billy with a plaque that is displayed in the lobby at EMMR. Billy Kimmel passed away after a racing accident at Williams Grove Speedway in 2007. You can have your name added to the plaque for a donation of $125.00 or $500.00. All donations will go to EMMR. This is similar to the Gary Wolford plaque that hangs in our second level of the museum. Please help us honor Billy. Thank you.

Announcements

From the President's corner.....

I hope all of you had a great holiday. 2018 was a good year for EMMR, except for the rain, but all tracks had to deal with that and with all the lost revenue I don't know how they do it.

Our vintage cars toured all the local tracks and I want to thank the tracks for their hospitality. We averaged 20 cars a night and had 59 cars show up at The Grove.

Our volunteers changed all the light bulbs on the first floor and we saved $1500.00 this year in electric bills!!

Our roundtables were well attended and I want to thank all the participants and also to Dave Hare for the great job he does for us.

The fish fry, fair and convention went well as did all the other events for the year.

We saw Darwin Doll and Grace Bell resign from their positions and I want to thank them for their service to EMMR. We also lost our most popular tour guide Perry Trimmer, he will be sorely missed.

Now on to the new year.  First I want to thank the many volunteers who gave many hours of their time for making the museum what it is today. We couldn't do it without you. And to all of you that visited us and gave contributions we can't thank you enough.

First, our Thursday night work parties are in full swing and Lynn always has plenty to do, the man and his mind never slow down! We have some great roundtables planned for 2019 with such guests as Bobby Allen, Logan Schuchart, Jacob Allen, Ralph Liguari, Scott and Donna Gobrecht and we will honor Greg Hodnett. These will be listed on the yellow schedule.

We will be doing all the race tracks with our vintage cars, with one change. We will ask all vintage car owners that do track time to donate a once a year $50.00 donation to EMMR as your contribution to the museum for the opportunity to run your cars. For multiple car owners it will be $10.00 for each additional car.  You will receive a sticker and must show it at each track (this does not apply to photo ops at Williams Grove). Also Kutztown has been added to the schedule with John Marks as contact person.

Our Spring Open House will be April 6-7, 2019. Saturday there will be a drag racing roundtable with Jeff Golden and Sunday we will honor Greg Hodnett. An auction will be held with half of the proceeds going to Sherry Hodnett. This will be a great afternoon.

The fish fry will be May 5th, the fair June 28/30th, the convention August 23, 24, 25 and the Lobitz Party will be November 3rd. Winter open house will be December 7 and 8th. Please support these events. There is also a yard sale, street rod cars shows, tractor pulls, work parties and much more! 2019 is going to be a GREAT year!! Please refer to the yellow schedule for these events.

We have lots of new cars and exhibits at the museum so we hope to see you there and again I want to thank you for your support. We are always looking for new volunteers. In closing a rich man buying you something doesn't mean anything but a busy man giving you his time is everything.

Till next time,
Nancy
