50th WGOT/EMMR Convention

Please join us September 6-8 for the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing Convention. This year we are offering an exciting series of events to celebrate our 50th Anniversary.

Friday, September 6 @ 12 PM

Celebrate 50 years of WGOT/EMMR at the Latimore Valley Fairgrounds pavilion on Friday, September 6. Join us for a picnic lunch of pulled pork and sides. Food by donation. This event is open to members of the public!

Have a vintage race car? Bring it to display at the picnic! Let’s fill the infield with cars that have participated in previous WGOT/EMMR Conventions and Track Time events. All makes and models welcome!

Saturday, September 7

The second annual Day at the Grove on track vintage race car exhibition will be held at Williams Grove Speedway on Saturday, September 7.

Gates open at 8 am. Infield concession stand will be open for breakfast and lunch. Admission is $10. Children 12 years of age and under are free.

Check out what goes on behind the scenes at the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing. Join us for a special tours of our auxiliary building featuring 20 additional race cars; Chris Economaki Library Collection; and the EMMR Drag Racing Exhibit.

EMMR’s annual Membership Meeting hosted by the Board of Directors will take place at the Museum in the 2nd Floor Auditorium on Sunday, September 8 at 11:30 AM.

EMMR Members will receive administrative and strategic planning updates from the Directors.

The continuation and success of WGOT/EMMR would not be possible without the dedication and commitment of Lynn & Barb Paxton. Join us at the Museum at 12:30 PM as we honor and celebrate our 2024 Grand Marshals.

We will also pay tribute to WGOT Founder Jack Gunn who was instrumental in the early days of the organization.

The 50th Convention Roundtable will focus on “Racing into the Future, Remembering the Past.” Moderator Dave Hare will talk with Lynn Paxton and special guests about the origins and development of the Williams Grove Old Timers and Eastern Museum of Motor Racing. The discussion will begin at 1 pm in the Museum auditorium.
